Rush Hour label of the year on Resident Advisor
The past 12 months of Rush Hour have seen Recloose and Anthony ‘Shake’ Shakir mining their back catalogues, Detroit upstart Kyle Hall swapping stories with elder statesman Rick Wilhite, local luminary Tom Trago leaving a trail of new remixes from his recent album, while rough diamonds from the archives of Chicago’s legendary Trax Recordings were given new life—and a decent mixdown.
And that’s not even mentioning the sublabel, Hour House Is Your Rush, which further dissected the legacy of the Windy City, as the lost tapes of Gene Hunt and Ron Hardy were nestled between new cuts from Tevo Howard and KiNK. Like each of its predecessors, RA’s top label of 2010, Rush Hour, harnessed the defining club sound of the year. Unlike each of its predecessors, however, Rush Hour snagged the top spot by simultaneously ushering in a new era, and reveling in the past.

Falty DL vs Cosmin TRG Live at Unsound Festival
New York’s Falty DL will team up with Romanian producer Cosmin TRG to play a joint live set at Unsound Krakow on 23.10.2010, as part of Unsound’s Bass Mutations series.
The two artists first met at Unsound Festival New York, where they were both on the line up, leading to this collaboration.
Falty DL releases on Planet Mu, and his influences range from dubstep to garage, soul and jungle. Cosmin TRG releases on Hessle and Hotflush, as well as many other labels, and reinvents his music constantly, also drawing influences from a range of styles, including dubstep, garage and techno. He is a key figure in the Romanian electronic music scene. Both artists also release on Rush Hour.
You’ll hear the results of this might union first – and perhaps only – at Unsound Krakow, which will also mark the Polish debuts of both producers.
One more reason to sign up for Unsound Krakow 2010, taking place from 17.10.2010 – 24.10.2010. More program news coming soon!
